The time is nearing when you will have to go on the hunt for your wife Xmas presents. You will have to shop and think about what she would like and then vacillate when you cannot make up your mind. You want something special not the same old thing you do every year, right?
The mall has lots of stuff that could be a nice gift. Perfume, jewelry, and other things that women love abound in stores. But even though it is nice to receive such niceties, it would be interesting to find another type of present under the tree.
Lusciously wrapped boxes and bags tied with pretty ribbon are intriguing for a while but once you have seen the same present inside of them the excitement dies. This year how about trying something new and giving a gift from a different place. Maybe what your wife would really like is something that lingers much longer than just a holiday season.

Create a coupon for a day to be alone. Fill a basket or bag with scented candles, chocolates, lovely smelling bath salts and some gossipy reading material. Then pick a day when you know she is free and set the scene.
Tell her that today is her day. Send her the bathroom where a hot bath is waiting. Candles are burning. A table is set with wine, chocolates and lovely reading material. A warm bath towel awaits her on the shelf. Then take the members of the household, shut off the phone and send her to a place of solitude and relaxation. This is the one thing she would never think to ask for but would be the most welcome of gifts. Time by herself.
Doing this means you have elevated your gift giving I. Q. You will earn many points with your wife because you have shown her that you are doing more than just buying her something you are foreseeing her needs and addressing those needs for her. That makes you a hero. This idea can be used no matter what she likes to do. If it is movies then get a stack of her favorite, make her some popcorn, put her favorite candy there, give the remote and leave for the day. The time she has will be graciously accepted.
